We are specialists in swimming ponds and natural swimming pools and offer a one-stop shop for the entire process from initial consultation with you, through production of the design and technical specifications, to the construction and final completion of the pond.
We also offer an optional aftercare and maintenance service.
To make Eco Swimming Ponds more affordable, our design, pond size (12m x 8m), and process is standardised as follows:
- Consultation and site visit

- Construction
- Maintenance (optional)
1. Consultation And Site Visit
We carry this out in two stages:
The first stage is to talk to you on a phone or video call. Before arranging a site visit we generally we need a 30 minute conversation with you so we can:
- Answer any general questions you may have.
- Look at your property on Google Maps satellite view and discuss the specifics of your site and available space. If you can send us photos and plans of your site that can sometimes be useful, but it is not always needed at this stage.
- Advise (based on the Google Maps view and our conversation) whether or not the space is suitable for an Eco Swimming Pond.
The second stage is the site visit itself. Clearly it is important we meet each other face-to-face, and understand more about the requirements of the site, and that what we are proposing will work.
After the visit we will send you a Design Consultation Report with a final proposed design and quotation, which usually are not different from the initial proposal in the first stage. This report provides the basis for proceeding with the design stage.
On-site design consultation fees are as follows:
- All on-site design consultations within 25 miles of the M25 are free
- 25 - 50 miles from the M25 are £240 incl VAT
- 50 - 100 miles from the M25 are £480 incl VAT
- More than 100 miles from the M25 are £720 incl VAT + travel expenses
2. Design & Technical Specifications
The Design and Technical Specifications stage ("Design stage") involves the production of a package of AutoCAD design drawings, which all form the basis for the Construction stage.
This design package is standardised for Eco Swimming Ponds, and includes:
- Overall plan
- Setting out
- Excavation
- Timber dividing structure
- Pond edge and drainage
- Filtration system
- Planting plan
- Jetties and pond bag wall
3. Construction
The Construction stage will take around 5 weeks to complete.
Our construction team always consists of at least 2 core Gartenart employees who will have built dozens of swimming ponds, and who will work on every aspect of the construction.
We do not use sub-contractors or local labour except when unskilled labour is required (eg materials handling) and this is always under close supervision from the Gartenart foreman.
4. Maintenance (Optional)
Your swimming pond will need around 2-3 hours of maintenance per month if we carry this out. Alternatively you or a local gardener can do this. The work is not complicated and mainly involves brushing and vacuuming.
